Why Joe Does What He Does
Joe’s love for investing started early. “I’ve been trading stocks and doing investing since I was a kid,” he shared. Though he began his professional life as an engineer, Joe realized he needed something more. Engineering projects, with their clear start and end points, left him wanting more variety and challenge. He found his answer in the ever-changing world of investing.
“The investment world is constantly evolving and changing. It’s a job that continues to challenge me every day,” he said.
But Joe’s work isn’t just about finding the best investment strategies—it’s about helping people. When he and his partners started their firm 11 years ago, they had a bold goal: to change how people invest. Instead of pushing products that benefited the seller more than the buyer, Joe’s firm focuses on guiding people through financial decisions with less fear and more confidence.
“It’s about helping people get a more optimal return, with a little more comfort and a lot less fear,” Joe explained.
The Moments That Matter Most
For Joe, it’s the personal stories that make his work so fulfilling. One memory stands out in particular. Joe described a widow who came to his firm for help. She relied on a marital trust for income but felt powerless because the trustees controlled the money.
“She was 65 years old, and I remember her calling me, crying, because the trustees were trying to limit what she could do with her own money,” he recalled.
Joe and his team stepped in, doing extra work to give her the knowledge and confidence she needed to take control. Over time, she gained full control of her finances. “It wasn’t about us managing the money,” Joe said. “It was about helping her find her financial strength and the freedom to do what she wanted. That’s the kind of work I fall in love with.”
For Joe, these moments are what make everything worth it. “It’s about helping people who are capable but might not know how to reach their goals. We use our expertise to help them get there.”
