Meet Our Leadership Team
Eric Clarke serves as chief executive officer for Orion Advisor Solutions (Orion), helping advisory professionals operationalize their vision for success by delivering cutting-edge financial technology and investment management solutions through the organization’s brand entities: Orion Advisor Tech, Orion Wealth Management and Orion OCIO. Prior to his current role, Eric was the founding CEO of Orion Advisor Tech, and previously served as COO for CLS Investments (now part of Brinker Capital Investments). As an industry-recognized thought leader and advocate for advisory professionals, Eric has written numerous articles that have appeared in InvestmentsNews and The Journal of Financial Planning. Eric has received numerous industry awards including WealthManagement’s CEO of the Year for 2022, ThinkAdvisor’s IA25 in 2012 and 2019, and InvestmentsNews’ Icon & Innovators Award in 2019.
Eric earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University and Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah. As an avid runner, Eric uses the solitude of his runs to think through business strategies and plan new scenarios to help advisors increase functional efficiencies and improve their businesses.
Ryan Beach serves as President, Orion Wealth Management. Ryan is dedicated to creating solutions for complex problems, and advocates for a great experience across Orion for clients as well as team members.
Prior to joining Orion, Ryan served as an attorney for a law firm specializing in SEC matters. In 2011, he joined Orion’s legal department and became President, and later CEO, of CLS Investments (now part of Brinker Capital Investments). He has since held several leadership roles across Orion, including CEO of Constellation Trust Company, and President of Orion Portfolio Solutions. Ryan’s legal background provided him with a unique perspective to tackle issues in the highly regulated financial industry.
Ryan is passionate about helping advisors guide their clients to achieve their long-term financial goals. He embraces the fiduciary business model and loves being part of a company that strives to give more to its clients than it takes.
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, a Juris Doctorate earned with distinction, as well as FINRA Series 65 license.
Brian McLaughlin is President, Orion Advisor Tech. Prior to Orion’s acquisition in June 2022, Brian was the CEO and Co-Founder of Redtail Technology where he worked closely with advisors, broker-dealers, and industry partners for nearly two decades. Through innovation and cooperation, Brian’s touchstone has always been to make the industry a better place for those who depend upon it. He is passionate about the CRM-driven solutions Redtail Technology provides to the financial services community and enjoys getting his hands dirty in the pursuit of continuous innovation. In addition to his behind-the-scenes work on Redtail product development, Brian is also highly respected in the industry at large, as evidenced by his many appearances as an individual speaker or panelist at industry events and through his frequent contributions to publications such as Financial Planning, InvestmentNews, and ThinkAdvisor. When he’s not focused on fintech, Brian loves spending time with his family, all things aviation, Oregon Ducks football, and Legos.
Kurt Brown is the President of OCIO at Orion where he oversees the firm’s bespoke, high-touch services that power advisory practices, family offices and institutions to more efficiency and higher growth. Prior to joining Orion in July 2022, Kurt was the founder and CEO of TownSquare Capital – one of the industry’s fastest growing OCIO/TAMP programs. Kurt’s team has consistently helped advisor practices accelerate their growth rates while enhancing investor returns, tax efficiency, and client retention.
With nearly 30 years of buy and sell-side capital markets experience, Kurt was also a principal at Alta Capital and Banc of America/Montgomery Securities. He studied Finance and Economics at Brigham Young University where he currently serves as an adjunct professor. Kurt sits on the boards of the Ballard Center for Social Impact and the American Heritage School.
Daniel Applegarth is the chief financial officer of Orion Advisor Solutions and is responsible for the financial operations of Orion Advisor Tech, Orion Wealth Management and Orion OCIO. Prior to joining the company in 2006, Daniel worked as an auditor for Ernst and Young in Seattle, where he obtained his CPA license. Daniel graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and later received his Master of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Kylee Beach serves as general counsel for Orion Advisor Solutions, where she oversees various legal matters affecting Orion and its brand entities including, contracts, intellectual property, and other corporate matters. Kylee also supervises the risk and compliance teams and serves as the Chair of the Executive Risk Committee.
Since joining Orion in 2011, Kylee has held numerous positions including Chief Compliance Officer of CLS Investments, LLC (now part of Brinker Capital Investments). Prior to joining Orion, Kylee was a private practice attorney who represented numerous issuers before the SEC on issues including initial public stock offerings, registration of investment advisers, and ongoing reporting obligations.
Kylee received her J.D., with high distinction, from the University of Nebraska College of Law, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University with the highest distinction.
Julie Lane currently serves as Chief Human Resources Officer. She has been an HR leader in numerous industries including: retail, packaging and technology in start-up, private-equity portfolio and public business settings. She holds the professional human resources certifications of SPHR and SHRM – SCP. Julie earned her MBA from Bellevue University.
As the Chief Marketing Officer, Betsy Jazynka is responsible for creating and accelerating Orion’s strategy and brand. She is focused on driving the company’s vision of helping independent fiduciary advisors differentiate and grow by building go-to-market and thought leadership plans that support Orion’s innovation efforts.
Perez has over 25 years’ experience devoted to elevating brands and implementing scalable multi-channel marketing programs for investment firms, banks, technology companies and other B2B organizations. Most recently, she was Vice President of Marketing for Union Bank & Trust where she led marketing, customer experience and call center teams.
Meet Our Board
In 2013, Jonathan retired as Chairman and CEO of both The Dreyfus Corporation—a subsidiary of BNY Mellon—and Mellon Bank Securities Corporation. Having served as a C-suite executive for a number of financial institutions, including Scudder Investments and UBS PaineWebber, he brings the leadership and experience of a long and accomplished career to his role as Executive Chair of the Board. Jonathan holds a B.A. from Bucknell University.
Noreen D. Beaman is the Vice Chair of Orion’s Board of Directors. She most recently served as President of Orion Advisor Solutions following Orion’s 2020 merger with Brinker Capital. Prior to the merger, Noreen was CEO at Brinker Capital where she helped advisors and their clients build better outcomes for over 30 years. Noreen has received numerous accolades for her lasting impact on the financial advice industry include Philadelphia Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO, InvestmentNews’ 2017 Women to Watch, and Greater Philadelphia’s Entrepreneur of the Year, alongside Chuck Widger in the financial services category by EY.
Noreen received her Bachelor of Science from Saint Peter’s University. She earned the CPA designation in New Jersey and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. As an industry leader, Noreen is passionate about supporting culture, women, and diversity in the workplace. She is a mentor for the Money Management Institute’s Leadership Pathway, which connects members of the next generation with industry veterans to further enhance the mentee’s knowledge and insights surrounding the investment advisory industry. Noreen is an active contributor and frequently participates in panels to discuss the importance of women and greater diversity, equity, and inclusion in wealth management.
TA Associates
Roy helps lead TA’s investments in financial services markets, previously working in Equity Investments at Davidson Kempner Partners and High Yield and Leveraged Finance at Banc of America Securities. Roy holds a B.S. from Washington and Lee University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was named an Arjay Miller Scholar.

Todd is co-head of the North America Services Group and focuses primarily on investments in financial and tech-enabled services companies, and serves on the Board of Directors of DiscoverOrg, Evanston Capital Management, Orion Advisor Solutions, Procare Software, and Russell Investments. Todd received a B.A. in politics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Charles Goldman is a member of the Board of Directors of Genstar portfolio companies ACA Group, Amerilife, Cerity Partners, Mercer Advisors, Orion Advisor Solutions and the American Mountain Guides Association. Prior to joining the Genstar SAB, Charles was President and CEO of AssetMark, Inc., a leading independent provider of innovative investment and consulting solutions serving financial advisors.
Prior to joining AssetMark, Charles was a senior advisor to Bain & Company, Genstar and several private equity firms focused on the financial services space. Charles was also President of Fidelity Investments, Custody & Clearing; EVP and head of Schwab Institutional; President of Paramount Farms, Inc., and President of Paramount Citrus Association. Among other boards in the financial services industry, Mr. Goldman was Chairman of the Board of Personal Capital Corporation. Charles received his MBA in General Management with Honors from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his BS in Finance, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Southern California.
Lori is a member of Genstar Capital’s Strategic Advisory Board and advises the firm in the financial services industry. She brings more than 25 years of experience of working in the financial industry as a prominent voice and is known for her intense passion for continuous improvement in the financial advisory industry. As CEO of WealthTech at RedRock Strategic Partners LLC, Lori works directly with C-suite level executives at some of the largest financial services companies, to help them create, and execute against, winning growth strategies and to improve the overall experiences for advisors and their clients. She has expertise in investment, technology, distribution and advisory solutions and is a regular speaker at industry events. Lori received a BA from The Ohio State University and graduated from the Executive MBA Program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Genstar Capital
At Genstar Capital, Sid helps to identify, evaluate, and execute acquisition and investment opportunities. He originally joined Genstar Capital in 2012 as an Associate and re-joined the firm in 2017. Prior to re-joining, Sid was Chief of Staff to the CEO at AssetMark (a former Genstar portfolio company) and led corporate strategy for the firm. Sid began his career as an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley. Sid received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Genstar Capital
Tony helps to identify, evaluate, and execute acquisition and investment opportunities for Genstar Capital. Prior to joining Genstar Capital in 2007, Tony was the Chief of Staff at Barclays Global Investors (“BGI”), where he executed strategic initiatives for the Executive Committee. Prior to BGI, he was an Associate at Hellman & Friedman LLC, a private equity investment firm in San Francisco. He began his career in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley in New York. Tony holds an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.
