OMAHA, Neb., March 22, 2023 – Orion Advisor Solutions, the premier provider of transformative wealthtech solutions for fiduciary advisors, today announced several important leadership updates for its Wealth Management business line. Tim Holland, CFA, is now Chief Investment Officer – OCIO; Rusty Vanneman, CFA, has been promoted to Chief Investment Officer – Wealth Management; and Shelby Perez has joined Orion as Chief Solutions Officer.
Providing best-in-class investment management expertise
Tim Holland has been named Chief Investment Officer of Orion’s OCIO business, reporting to Orion Wealth Management President Ryan Beach. He joined the Brinker Capital team as Global Investment Strategist in 2017 and was named Chief Investment Officer following Orion’s merger with Brinker in 2020. Holland continues to serve on Orion’s Investment Committee and will be responsible for consulting with Orion’s largest customers growing their firms through our OCIO services. He will work closely with the talented OCIO team (formerly TownSquare) and with Josh Flade, CFA, whose continued involvement will ensure continuity of the investment process for Orion OCIO.
With over 20 years of industry experience, Holland previously served as Portfolio Manager for TAMRO Capital Partners and as an Equity Analyst for Manley Asset Management. He holds a FINRA Series 65 designation and is a CFA® charter holder.
Starting July 1, Kurt Brown, currently Orion OCIO President and Chief Investment Officer, has accepted a role to fulfill a three-year church service commitment as President of the Tacoma, WA, Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the same time, Brown will continue to support Orion by serving on its Investment Committee, providing market updates and commentary.

Rusty Vanneman has been promoted to Chief Investment Officer of Orion’s Wealth Management business, leading Orion’s Investments team with responsibility for the investment management and strategies for Orion Portfolio Solutions and Brinker Capital Investments. He will report to Shelby Perez and work closely with Orion’s Executive Team. Vanneman has held investment leadership positions at Orion since 2012, serving a critical role in developing and executing the firm’s investment strategies.

Vanneman has 35 years of experience in the investment industry, including two decades in either Chief Investment Officer or Director of Research positions. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and is also a Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) and a Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA). Prior to Orion’s acquisition of Brinker Capital in 2020, Vanneman was the Chief Investment Officer for Orion Advisor Solutions and prior to that was the President and Chief Investment Officer of CLS Investments. His experience also includes serving as Chief Investment Officer for a multi-billion-dollar RIA as well as stints at E*TRADE and Fidelity Management and Research in Boston.
Improving the Wealth Management user experience
In her new role as Chief Solutions Officer, Shelby Perez is tasked with maintaining the Wealth Management platform’s strategic vision and cementing Orion’s position as the industry’s leading tech-enabled solutions provider. She will be based in Atlanta and report to Ryan Beach.
Perez brings more than 25 years of fintech experience, as well as a deep industry network, that will support her efforts to chart the next phase of Orion’s growth. Prior to joining Orion, Perez held senior leadership positions at Charles Schwab and most recently, Visa, where she focused on product innovation and strategy, growth, go-to-market, and customer experience.
She will spearhead all Wealth Management product launches, ultimately ensuring a curated top-tier offering, enhanced advisor experience, and competitive pricing model. In addition, she will serve as the interdepartmental head between the Investments, Marketing, Technology, and Sales teams, aimed at fostering greater collaboration and successfully bringing premier products and services to market.
